Community Appearance Awards – Call for Entries
The Community Appearance Awards honor the efforts of individuals and groups who have made a positive impact on the appearance of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.
The Community Appearance Commission is currently accepting nominations for the 2025 Community Appearance Awards. The deadline for entries is Friday, October 18, 2024.
Please note that projects which have previously received a Community Appearance Award are not eligible for a second award. The Community Appearance Awards Program will be held in late spring 2025. Award Judges
Awards are chosen based on project merit by either the Community Appearance Commission (CAC), Winston-Salem Section of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), or a jury panel. The jury panel is made of design and planning professionals who live and work outside of Forsyth County.
Selection Criteria
Awards are given based on the project merit, as determined by the selection criteria:
- Contributes significantly to the improvement of community appearance
- Exhibits a high standard of excellence in design
- Preserves or restores desirable natural features of the site or area
- Develops a noteworthy process of community involvement, which has brought about an improvement in the character and appearance of the community
